OUR CREATOR'S NAME, PART 4

Let us continue to see how the word vain is translated in the various Scriptures.

You shall not bear false {shaker} witness against your neighbor.

Shemot/Exodus 20:16

Let us now read the Ten Commandments in Devarim.

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

Devarim/Deuteronomy 5:20

When Mosheh (Moses) wrote this verse shav he used it interchangeably with shaker as he was speaking about false witness. You can do some research yourself.  I am giving only some information that I hope is helping you, and that you will begin to call the name of our Creator with confidence knowing that He is pleased and that He will bless you for it.

Be confident and call upon His name as you worship and when in need. Do not walk in fear. Speak His name Yehovah with devotion and great love, for it will honor Him.

Yehovah has given us His name because it is valuable for us. When we speak His name, it brings us closer to Him. He wants us to call Him by His name and to swear by His name. He has not forbidden us to swear, but commands us to swear using His name.

Sometimes in the Scriptures we read that man swore by the life of someone else. Let us listen to Joseph while in Mitsrayim (Egypt) as he speaks to his brothers.

“By this you will be tested: by the life of Pharaoh, you shall not go from this place unless your youngest brother comes here!”

Bereshit/Genesis 42:15

King Saul also swore saying “As Yehovah lives.”

And Saul swore to her by Yehovah, saying, “As Yehovah lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.”

Shemu’el 1/1Samuel 28:10

Now therefore, my lord, as Yehovah lives and as your soul lives….

Shemu’el 1/1 Samuel 25:26

Yehovah swear by His own name.

“As I live,” declares Yehovah…

Yirmeyahu/Jeremiah 22:24

As you read the Scriptures you will find out that many times He, Yehovah, swore. He does not forbid us to swear, but He wants us to swear in truth, not falsely or in vain.

Let us read an interesting Scripture now.

Who may ascend into the hill of Yehovah? And who many stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully.

Tehillim/Psalm 24:3-4

The people swore by the life of the king, and by Yehovah’s name, but they had to swear truthfully, not lying, deceiving people.

Let us read a little verse in Sefer Wayyiqra.

“You shall not swear by My name falsely, nor shall you profane the name of your Elohim; I am Yehovah.”

Wayyiqra/Leviticus 19:12 NKJV

From the Hebrew Bible we have it a little differently.

You shall not swear falsely by My name, profaning the name of your God (Elohim): I am  Hashem (Yehovah)

Wayyiqra/Leviticus 19:12

In above Scripture I added the correct Hebrew title, Elohim, and the correct name Yehovah. We must pray for the complete correct translation from the Hebrew be available to the public. The fact is that if we do not use His name, and say, “As Yehovah Lives” we are indeed, swearing falsely, and we are dishonoring Him.  Is this what you want to do? I do not think so.

Yehovah Himself commands us to swear by His name.

You shall fear only Yehovah your Elohim; and you shall worship Him an swear by His name.

Devarim/Deuteronomy 6:13

Yehoshua did not change this,

In the gospel of Mattithyahu we now read the following verses with a better understanding.

Again you have heard that it was said to those of long ago: You  shall not swear by My name falsely, but you shall return to Yehovah your oath.  But I say to you not to swear in vain in any matter, neither by Heaven because it is the throne of Elohim,  nor by earth because it is the footstool of His feet, nor by Jerusalem because it is the city of Elohim,  nor by your head for you are not able to make one hair white or black.   But let your words be yes yes or no no. Everything in addition to this is evil.

Mattithyahu/Matthew 5:33-36 (Hebrew Gospel of Matthew -George Howard).

Yehoshua said it is better not to swear at all because they were swearing by not saying, “As Yehovah lives” as He had commanded them, but they were swearing falsely swearing over things that have not power, such as our head, earth, or anything of no value to cover up their deception.

There are many mistranslations in the Scriptures, but we cannot find anything contrary to what Yehovah, said in the First Covenant. He did not change His mind on things when His Ben/Son came into this world. His Word is Eternal. What He has spoken, He will do.

Recently I had a chance to swear saying “As Yehovah lives” when I was falsely accused. And when I did “As Yehovah lives”,  that that person believed me. But if I had said, I swear by my head, or by your head, it would have been a farce, a joke and a laughing matter.  I would have being swearing falsely. For my head has no power.

Today I need to end this message by adding that Yehovah is to us like the verb to Be. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He does not change, and it is: I AM THAT I AM!

His name must be mentioned, spoken, not simply remembered as the translators who have translated the Bibles have conveniently hidden His name to us.  He spoke Hebrew, and we must speak His name as He has given it to us.

Sadly, they have hidden the most powerful name in the Universe, and you wonder if they knew Him, or they translated only to make a profit? I do not know, but it suffices that if you want to be blessed you must speak His correct name Yehovah, and not substitute His most Wonderful and Powerful Name with a surrogate, such as Hashem, G’D, or Adonai, or the LORD, or GOD in capital letters. If you do this you are blind, and you are hurting yourself, because you are dishonoring Him.

And now, since this evening will begin the first Biblical month, and we remember the birth of our Mashiach Yehoshua, I want to write the following verses,

Each one should look not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

For, let this mind be in you which was also in Mashiach (Messiah) Yehoshua, who being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men. And having been found I fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake.

Yehovah, therefore, has highly exalted above every name, that at the Name of Yehoshua every knee should bow, of those in the shamayim (Heaven), and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess the Yehoshua is Adon (Master), to the esteem (glory) of Yehovah the Father.”

Pilippiyim/Philippians 2:4-11 HS

Until next time, and I pray you will be courageous and speak the correct name as He, the  Creator and Supreme Judge and King of the Universe has graciously given us. We are commanded to make His Name known, and not messed it up with religious garbage. Hiding His name is detrimental to us. But it is a blessing to us and to those who will learn through us to call Him by His correct name, if we obey and speak His name to honor Him. Let the Fear of Yehovah be upon us all, and let us honor Him, by our obedience without mixing it with the will of man.
