THE SABBATH DAY
I will continue now to speak on the seventh day of
the week. The Sabbath day that Yehovah has given us. I already have spoken
about the fact that He blessed the seventh day, and sanctified. He did not
bless any other day. He did not bless Sunday, which is the first day of the
week, or the second day, or the third day. No, He blessed and reserved the
special seventh day for us to rest.
Marqos/Mark 2:27 declares, “The Sabbath was made for man,
and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is Master of the
Sabbath.”
Please note that He said that the Sabbath was made
for MAN, not for any special race. The Jewish people were not yet born. The
Sabbath began at Creation as a sign to all mankind. All men need to keep the
Sabbath. Adam taught His descendants. Seth, Noach, Abraham, whom Yehovah
declared righteous. If they did not obey Him they would not been declared
righteous
Next, He healed an invalid and commanded to take his
bed (mat) and walk. “Rise, take up your bed and walk.’ And immediately the man was made
well. Took up his bed, and walked. Yochanan/John
5:8 Yeshua[i]
Healed on the Sabbath again, and the Jews did not appreciate this. He answered
them accordingly.
Yochanan/John 5:17-19 “My
Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 18 Therefore the
Jews sought all the more to kill him, because He not only broke the Sabbath,
but also said that Elohim was His Father, making Himself equal with Elohim. 19
Then Yeshua answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son
can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever the
does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, ad
shows Him all things that he Himself does; and he will show Him greater works
than these, that you may marvel.”
Yehovah is the author of all healing, and Yeshua was
doing what the Father was instructing Him to do. But the religious leaders did
not receive him.
Yochanan/John
1:11 “He
came to His own, and his own did not receive Him,”
We suppose to relax
with family, and spend time with Him.
We must honor Him, for He deserves our love and time. He has given us
life and is our Provider and Healer, and much more. He “has given us all things that
pertain to life and godliness.”(Kepha2, 2 Peter 1:3)
Without Him we are
powerless. Our very breath is from Him, and He can remove it at will. He has
created us and is keeping us well fed. Why should we disobey Him by not keeping
the seventh day? Yet, so many people murmured when they removed the
Commandments from public places. The commandments have not been kept since the
sun god worshiping Emperor Constantine removed it from the believers 321 at
Nicea. And that is not the only one that has been removed. I need to repeat
myself on this subject, because many believers love to misinterpret the
epistles of Paul saying things he did not say.
The problem was that the
religious leaders had added so many rules on how to keep the Sabbath that made
it impossible for anyone to do it correctly according to Yehovah’s Command.
They did not possess a Bible as we do now. They relied on those who taught
them. But today we have many Bibles and we have been given the Ruach haQodesh
(Holy Spirit), to teach us individually, and we can learn the truth by
revelation.
Devarim/Deuteronomy 4:2
“You
shall not add to the word which I command you, not take from it, that you may
keep the commandments of Yehovah.”
The accusers were
actually sinning because they added so many rules that Yehovah had not given. In
these Last Days there are still many religious leaders that follow the
commandments of man, and they are living in sin, but they do not realize they
are. Now is the time individually to repent and begin to obey Yehovah. At
judgment day we will appear before Yehovah and give an account of our lives. It
is so easy to obey His Commandments and be accepted by our Creator, rather than
be rebuked!
Yehoshua was, and still
is, the Son of Yehovah[ii],
and Elohim Himself, and could not profane the Sabbath or He would cease to be
Elohim and could not become our Atonement
Sacrifice. Yehoshua healed on the
Sabbath, and went into the synagogue to preach and teach and to heal the sick on
the Sabbath. These things are good things to do on the Sabbath. Yehoshua did
nothing but what He saw the Father doing. He obeyed all the Commandments.
Yehoshua never sinned.
Qorin’tiyim 2/2
Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who
knew no sin for be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of Elohim
in Him.
Shemoth /Exodus 34:21 “Six
days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and
in harvest you shall rest.”
We learn from Yehoshua
that we can heal the sick, and help people in need even if it is the Sabbath. We can eat, but we cannot cook for that
involves time and work. We cannot also cause anyone to work, or light
a fire and cook. We cannot be cleaning our
house on the seventh day. Do not light the
fire because would involved work chopping wood. Buy and sell is forbidden. Work is forbidden,
(See Shemoth 20:8)
He speaks of keeping
the Sabbath in so many other passages, that it is impossible to miss it.
He has created this
physical body to work six days, and rest one day a week, and that is the
seventh day. Yes, the seventh day, not the first, second or third….! Yehovah
has given us the Sabbath to commune with Him, at least one full day of 24
hours, every week. The Sabbath begins at sun down the sixth day (Friday), and
ends on sundown on Saturday.
Until my next message
Shalom!
