SAMSON OUR NAZIRITE HERO

Part 2

I have been speaking on the last days of Samson’s life. It is important to understand everything we can about anyone’s life.

Samson was anointed to fight the enemies of Israel alone. He did not have an army. Single handed he began to free Israel of this evil enemy.

Although he did not reveal the truth of his consecration for several times, finally he gave in to her pressure, and told her the truth.

Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks of his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him. And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So He awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know That Yehovah had departed from him. Then the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze fetters, and he became a grinder I the prison. However, hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaven.

Judges 16:19-22

The Philistines glory in their victory saying:

“Our god has delivered into our hands Samson our enemy!” when the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said; “Our god has delivered into our hands our enemy, the destroyer of our land, and the one who multiplied our dead.”

Shophetim/Judges 16:23b-24

But we will read that their praises to their false god was not going to be valid. Soon they would end up dead!

We must be very careful not to judge Samson harshly. We must take a second look at ourselves in the same circumstances. I want to remind the reader that, sadly, all of us have sinned, which includes Samson. We have all gone astray according to the Word of Yehovah, there is none who does, good, not even one. Please read the Scriptures, from beginning of Bereshit/Genesis, to the end of the Bible, Chazon/Revelation, and discover this truth!

I have spoken often about the fact that we need to be saved from sin. Yehoshua did His part when He died on the cross for us, and rose again, on the third day, but we must do our part. We must repent of our many sins and believe in Yehoshua.

How many times have we sinned?

All of us have been called to be holy to Yehovah. This is the reason He gave us the Commandments to keep us holy, so that the enemy would not attack us. The reason we go through so much in life is, most times, because we do not repent of sin, and have given the right to the devil to attack us. We have no excuse. But Samson had no written Commandments and not tzitzit to remind him not to sin. He only had the oral law.

What about us who have the written Torah?

How many times have we not even kept one of the Commandments, such as keeping the Sabbath day Holy?

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do al your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah your Elohim.”

Shemot/Exodus 20:8-10

Keep on reading this chapter from the beginning and discover that you and I have missed the mark repeatedly.

We are called to love our Elohim with all our hearts.

“Hear O Israel: Yehovah our Elohim, Yehovah is one! You shall love Yehovah your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength”.

Devarim/Deuteronomy 6:4-5

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Wayyiqra/Leviticus 19:18

Each of us has fallen. We deserve to die. We have not lived our lives holy as He has called us to be.

How can we stand in judgment of him?

Yehovah clearly said:

“For I am Yehovah who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim.  You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”

Wayyiqra/Leviticus 11:45

He had delivered us from the power of the enemy when Yehoshua died on the cross and rose again on the third day, but we still sin today.

However, we can repent, and when we do, He forgives us. He is faithful. His love never fails. He knows the fact that we are weak. But He is strong and He is loving and merciful. He forgives our sins.

Samson also, I am sure, repented to Yehovah, and his hair, grew up again. Let me tell you, that the power was not in his hair, but in his consecration and his obedience to his calling. Disobedience was the reason for his fall. And disobedience is the call of our fall.

Eventually, when he prayed, he got his strength back and destroyed those Philistines that were mocking him. He killed more of them in his death than when he lived. He is our hero.

Each of us have failed Yehovah times and times again. But He is always lovingly forgiving our sins and opens His arms wide to receive us back. The Blood of Yehoshua was shed for our benefit. Yehoshua gave His precious sinless life to redeem us from the power of darkness.

Today, if you have not yet given your life to Yehovah, and believed in Yehoshua, please do so now. Voluntarily you can also take the Nazirite vow for a season and experience His presence and blessings as you never knew before. If you need to talk about this, you may contact me at:

The enemy rejoiced believing they had Samson. But they were not allowed to kill him. Yehovah saw to that. They only took his eyes, which was bad enough. Yehovah reserved him to the end for him to fulfill his mission which was to begin to destroy the enemy of Israel until his death.

Yehovah knew the end from the beginning. I know He knew that He had to die with the Philistines after his fall. He had to fulfill his destiny until the end of his life. He fought singled handed.

Yehoshua also had to fulfill His destiny by becoming our Savior and shedding His own Blood. He allowed Himself to be crucified. He could not die any other way. We needed to shed His Blood for our Redemption. For without shedding of Blood there is no redemption. He offered Himself voluntarily.

And so did Samson, therefore in my eyes he became a shadow or a type of the sacrifice of Yehoshua. With his death he destroyed more men than while alive!  Yehoshua with His death and resurrection saved you and me and all humanity! One man fell, Adam, and One Man Yehoshua, saved us from the fall.

By all means Samson was not a savior, but his ministry was to begin to free Israel from their oppressors: The Philistines. He became a hero in the history of Israel and ours. He never gave up till the end. Samson was made a Nazirite from the womb, but you can do it voluntarily. Please read Bemidbar/Number 6 whole chapter by yourself and see if Yehovah may want to use you in a special way. Let us be champions for Yehovah today! Amen!  Let us defeat all the  “Delilah” in the land!
